Né de père Grec et de mère Italienne, DEL PAPPAS est un vrai marseillais. Pure huile d'olive! Né en 1949 au Racati, un quartier populaire de la cité phocéenne, il passe une enfance heureuse de gamin des rues, ambiance que l'on retrouve parfois au détour de ses romans. Il s'intéresse très tôt à l'image, la photographie tout d'abord, puis le cinéma. Et c'est par celui-ci qu'il appréhende l'écriture. Comme ses lointains ancêtres phocéens, DEL PAPPAS, a su très jeune quitter Marseille, son "Omphalos", pour parcourir le monde... L'Amérique du Sud, le Maghreb, L'Afrique, L'Inde... Ailleurs n'est

jamais trop loin pour ce voyageur, sans cesse en quête de nouvelles cultures et de nouvelles rencontres. Mais DEL PAPPAS est aussi un amoureux de la mer, du soleil, des garrigues, de Marseille, des odeurs, des lumières, sans oublier la cuisine bien sûr pour laquelle il est toujours partant dès qu'il s'agit de partager une sardinade entre amis.

Depuis 1990 DEL PAPPAS se consacre entièrement à l'écriture. Le Baiser du Congre, son premier roman a été chaleureusement salué par la critique et nominé pour le Prix Polar 98. Les livres se sont succedés avec un succès croissant. En Février 2002, les académiciens Marseillais l'ont distingué en lui donnant le Grand prix de Provence pour l'ensemble de son œuvre et en 2007 la ville d'Aubusson lui a attribué le prix du polar. Il se distingue particulièrement avec un gros roman "Attila et la magie blanche" en 2011.

Constantin aurait bien aimé profiter de ses vacances et de sa solitude, Esther, sa vieille complice est en voyage et son fils en vacances avec sa classe. Justement une jolie sicilienne croise sa route, il y a longtemps qu’il n’est pas tomber amoureux. Mais celle-ci disparaît en lui laissant une mallette bien encombrante. Il décide alors de retrouver cette jolie girelle pour lui rendre tout simplement son oubli. Mais rien ne va se passer d’aussi simple façon et il devra affronter, à sa manière la mafia.

Del Pappas est auteur d’une soixantaine de livres dont une cinquantaine sont édités.

Mon avis

Un grand merci aux éditions M+ pour m'avoir permis de lire ce livre de l'auteur à la plume si addictive qu'il s'est lu en un rien de temps s'en m'ennuyer.

On y retrouve Constantin qui ne rêvait que d'une chose profiter à fond des vacances, alors qu'Esther sa complice est partie avec son fils en vacances. Sur sa route il rencontre une jeune sicilienne qui disparaît du jour au lendemain en lui laissant un cadeau une mallette encombrante, il va tout faire pour la retrouver et lui rendre cette mystérieuse mallette sauf qu'il va devoir affronter la mafia.

Vous aimez les livres collection noire de chez M+ éditions, le policier, les thrillers, je ne peux que vous recommander ce livre.

My mind

Many thanks to Editions M+ for giving me the opportunity to read this book by an author whose writing is so addictive that it took no time at all to get bored.

Constantin's only dream is to make the most of his vacations, while Esther, his partner in crime, is away on vacation with her son. On his way, he meets a young Sicilian woman who disappears overnight, leaving him a gift in the form of a bulky briefcase. He'll do everything in his power to find her and return the mysterious briefcase, except that he'll have to face the mafia.

If you like M+ éditions' black collection books, detective stories and thrillers, I can only recommend this book.
