Une enquête menée par un flic musicien, sur fond de sorcellerie et ayant pour décor les dessous d'une gare parisienne... Parmi les milliers de voyageurs, Laurent erre seul dans le hall de la gare de Lyon, l'air paumé. Il vient de rater son CAP boulangerie et sa mère l'a mis dehors. Samy, escroc à la grande gueule, le repère rapidement. Il a bien l'intention de profiter de la naïveté de ce gamin aux chaussures vertes et l'entraîne dans un cambriolage. L'appartement dans lequel ils pénètrent est une sorte d'antichambre du musée des Arts premiers et regorge de trésors africains. Mais ils tombent nez à nez avec la propriétaire et collectionneuse. Comme elle s'est blessée en tombant dans les escaliers, ils lui viennent en aide avant de s'enfuir. Pourtant, quelques heures plus tard, elle est retrouvée morte, abattue de cinq balles tirées à bout portant. Le commandant Chanel, chargé de l'enquête, s'enfonce alors dans l'étrange passé de cette victime, épouse d'un ex-préfet assassiné quai de Conti peu de temps auparavant. Un polar haletant sur fond de sorcellerie qui nous dévoile les coulisses de la gare de Lyon et nous ouvre les portes du célèbre 36 quai des Orfèvres. 

Mon avis :

Un grand merci à M+ éditions pour m'avoir permis de lire ce livre coup de cœur, mon deuxième de l'auteur et j'adore toujours autant sa plume si addictive.

On y retrouve Laurent qui marche sans but à la gare de Lyon, son CAP boulangerie raté, il s'est fait mettre dehors par sa mère. Il va tomber sur Samy un escroc avec une grande gueule, il se fait embrigader dans un cambriolage. Ils arrivent dans un drôle d'appartement avec une antichambre du musée des Arts regorgeant de trésors africains. Sauf que la propriétaire est là, blessée en tombant dans les escaliers et plusieurs heures plus tard, elle est retrouvée morte. Le commandant Chanel prend en charge l'enquête, il reprend le passé de la victime, c'est l'épouse d'un ex-préfet tué quai de Conti.

Un livre lu d'une traite tellement dès le départ j'ai accroché à l'histoire si prenante, captivante, remplie d'intrigues, de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages attachants.

Si vous aimez le 36 quai des Orfèvres, les enquêtes menées par un policier musicien sur fond de sorcellerie, je ne peux que vous recommander ce livre.

Many thanks to M+ éditions for allowing me to read this book, my second by the author, and I still adore her addictive writing.

Laurent is walking aimlessly around the Gare de Lyon, having failed his bakery apprenticeship and been kicked out by his mother. He runs into Samy, a swindler with a big mouth, and gets caught up in a burglary. They arrive in a strange apartment with an antechamber to the Musée des Arts, brimming with African treasures. Except that the owner is there, injured in a fall down the stairs and found dead several hours later. Commandant Chanel takes charge of the investigation, looking into the victim's past: she's the wife of an ex-prefect killed on the Quai de Conti.

This book was read in one go, so much so that from the outset I was hooked by the gripping, captivating story, full of intrigue, suspense and twists and turns, with endearing characters.

If you like 36 Quai des Orfèvres, the investigations led by a musician policeman against a backdrop of witchcraft, I can only recommend this book.
