Il m’appelle. Et moi, dans ma folie, je brûle d’envie de lui répondre, de m’approcher de lui, de le découvrir.

En vain. Il m’échappe.

Car il est d’un autre temps...

Je suis revenu des montagnes du nord de la Scandinavie, là où sévissent les plus sombres légendes de mon peuple. Plus personne ne m’attendait vivant. Mais je suis là, en Angleterre, et je rejoins les rangs de la Grande Armée Scandinave.

Les miens m’appellent le Survivant. Le protégé d’Odin. Le favori des dieux.

Rien n’est plus faux.

Je suis maudit, damné. Je suis un cauchemar.

Alors elle est mon seul espoir.

Et le moment est venu d’aller la chercher, à plus de mille ans de moi...

Mon avis

Ayant rencontré l'auteure pour me faire dédicacer le livre broché quand cette version reliée est sortie il me la fallait à tout prix étant un grand fan de ce format.

Depuis le temps que je voulais lire ce livre, aucun regrets d'avoir attendu la lecture commune, énorme coup de cœur tellement l'auteure m'a transporté dans les deux époques distinctes avec brio.

Quand on me parle de double temporalité, c'est à dire l'histoire au même endroit mais à une autre époque je suis fan. Il y à ici le Reading de 2024 avec Lyanna et le Reading de 870 avec Rune.

Tout commence de nos jours où Lyanna voit un homme, enfin est hantée par un homme qu'elle ne connaît même pas mais qui la passionne et depuis sa vie change, ses études, sa vie de tous les jours.

Elle est si attirée par lui qu'elle à envie de le rejoindre dans cet autre temps.

Quant à Rune pendant la période viking où tout le monde pensait qu'il allait mourir à cause des légendes de son peuple, pourtant il est là et à rejoint les rangs de cette Grande Armée Scandinave où il est le protégé d'Odin; mais il est maudit et elle est son seul espoir c'est pour cela qu'il brave tous les dangers pour aller la retrouver mille ans après.

Un plume tellement addictive que j'aurais bien lu le livre d'une traite tellement j'étais à fond dans l'histoire si prenante, captivante, émouvante.

Si vous êtes comme moi, vous aimez la double temporalité, les voyages dans le temps, les vikings, l'Angleterre je ne peux que vous recommander cette pépite, vous ne serez pas déçus.

My mind

Having met the author to sign the paperback when this hardcover version came out, I had to have it at all costs, as I'm a big fan of this format.

I'd been wanting to read this book for ages, so I had no regrets about waiting for the joint reading. I fell head over heels in love with it, so brilliantly did the author transport me into two distinct eras.

When people talk to me about double temporality, i.e. the story in the same place but in a different time, I'm a fan. Here we have the Reading of 2024 with Lyanna and the Reading of 870 with Rune.

It all starts in the present day, with Lyanna seeing a man, or at least being haunted by a man she doesn't even know, but who fascinates her, and since then her life has changed, her studies, her everyday life.

She's so drawn to him that she wants to join him in this other time.

As for Rune, during the Viking period when everyone thought he was going to die because of the legends of his people, yet here he is and he has joined the ranks of this Great Scandinavian Army where he is Odin's protégé; but he is cursed and she is his only hope, which is why he braves all the dangers to go and find her a thousand years later.

The writing is so addictive that I could have read the whole book in one go, so engrossed was I in this gripping, captivating, moving story.

If, like me, you love double time, time travel, Vikings and England, I can only recommend this nugget. You won't be disappointed.
