Mon avis :

Depuis le temps que je voulais le lire, voilà qui est fait, j'en ai profité qu'une lecture commune se fasse, un vrai coup de cœur, mon deuxième roman de lu de cette auteure à la plume si addictive que j'ai envie de tous les lires.

L'histoire commence à New-York en 1987, où on y retrouve Abigail qui est lassée de son travail en tant que chroniqueuse musicale, et elle voudrait un enfant. L’Irlande, elle n'y est plus allée depuis les funérailles de sa grand mère Lucy. Elle décide sur un coup de tête d'y retourner pour changer d'air et en profiter pour chercher des réponses sur son passé. Elle va tomber sur des enregistrement sur des cassettes audio de sa grand mère et elle va revenir sur tous les événements de son passé où tout à commencer.

Dès le départ j'ai été happé par l'histoire si prenante, addictive, remplie d'intrigues, de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages si attachants.

Si vous aimez ce genre de livre, je ne peux que vous le recommander.

My mind :

I've been wanting to read it for ages, and now it's here, so I took the opportunity to read it together. It was a real "coup de cœur", my second novel by this author, whose writing is so addictive that I want to read them all.

The story begins in New York in 1987, where we find Abigail bored with her job as a music columnist, and wanting a child. She hasn't been to Ireland since her grandmother Lucy's funeral. She decides on the spur of the moment to go back for a change of scenery and to seek answers about her past. She stumbles across some of her grandmother's audio tapes and goes back over the events of her past, where it all began.

Right from the start, I was hooked by this gripping, addictive story, full of intrigue, suspense and twists, with such endearing characters.

If you like this kind of book, I can only recommend it.
