David R. Slayton a grandi à Guthrie, Oklahoma, où trouver des romans de fantasy était difficile, et des romans de fantasy aux personnages divers, impossible. Il vit désormais à Denver dans le Colorado, avec son compagnon Brian, et écrit les histoires qu'il a toujours voulu lire. Depuis 2015, il organise tous les ans à Halloween une distribution de livres afin de promouvoir des auteurs issus de milieux marginalisés.

Résumé :

Adam Binder a un don : il est capable de voir le monde magique qui existe au-delà du nôtre. Mais depuis toujours, ce pouvoir lui vaut la méfiance de ses proches. Des années après avoir été interné par son frère Bobby, Adam est prêt à vivre comme il l'entend. Alors que la piste de son père disparu le mène à Denver, où vit désormais Bobby, Adam apprend qu'un esprit ancien a pris possession de sa belle-sœur. Bientôt, il devient lui-même la cible de cette entité malveillante. Pour l'emporter, il devra négocier avec des êtres dangereux... y compris son premier amour.

Mon premier partenariat avec les éditions Bragelonne, Milady je les remercies pour m'avoir accepter, ce premier livre a été un réel coup de cœur, hâte de découvrir la suite.

On y retrouve Adam Binder, il a un don, il peut voir ce qui est magique bien au-delà du notre. Sauf que ses proches sont méfiants. Il à déjà été interné à cause de son frère Bobby. Mais Adam veux vivre sa vie comme ilk le veut. Il recherche son père disparu, cela le mène jusqu'à Denver où il retrouvera son oncle Bobby. Une fois la haut il va apprendre qu'un esprit à pris possession de sa belle sœur. Sauf qu'il va vite devenir la cible de cette entité malveillante. Il va devoir négocier avec l'ennemi, jusqu'à son premier amour.

Ce que j'ai aimé en lisant ce livre :

Déjà la couverture de ce livre est magnifique, elle m'a donné de suite envie de lire le livre, dès le départ on entre dans l'histoire à la recherche de ce qui à bien pu posséder la belle sœur d'Adam. L'auteur à une plume si addictive qu'on est plongé dans l'histoire si prenante, émouvante à certains passages, captivante, rempli d'intrigues, de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages si attachants. Hâte de lire le tome 2.

Conclusion :

Si vous aimez ce genre de livre, de la fantaisie urbaine, le monde magique et surtout Adam binder mon personnage préféré dans cette série, je ne peux que vous recommander ce livre.

David R. Slayton grew up in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where finding fantasy novels was difficult, and fantasy novels with diverse characters was impossible. He now lives in Denver, Colorado, with his partner Brian, and writes the stories he has always wanted to read. Since 2015, he has organized an annual Halloween book giveaway to promote authors from marginalized backgrounds.

Summary :

Guthrie was a good place to be from, but it wasn’t a great place to live, not when you were like Adam, in all the ways Adam was like Adam.

Adam Binder hasn’t spoken to his brother in years, not since Bobby had him committed to a psych ward for hearing voices. When a murderous spirit possesses Bobby’s wife and disrupts the perfect life he’s built away from Oklahoma, he’s forced to ask for his little brother’s help. Adam is happy to escape the trailer park and get the chance to say I told you so, but he arrives in Denver to find the local magicians dead.

It isn’t long before Adam is the spirit’s next target. To survive the confrontation, he’ll have to risk bargaining with powers he’d rather avoid, including his first love, the elf who broke his heart.

The Binder brothers don’t realize that they’re unwitting pawns in a game played by immortals. Death herself wants the spirit’s head, and she’s willing to destroy their family to reap it.

My review :

My first partnership with Bragelonne, Milady I thank them for accepting me, this first book was a real favorite, eager to discover the sequel.

We find Adam Binder, he has a gift, he can see what is magical beyond our own. Except that his relatives are suspicious. He has already been interned because of his brother Bobby. But Adam wants to live his life as he wants. He searches for his missing father, which leads him to Denver where he finds his Uncle Bobby. Once there he learns that a spirit has taken possession of his beautiful sister. Except that he will quickly become the target of this malevolent entity. He will have to negotiate with the enemy, until his first love.

What I liked about this book :

The cover of this book is already beautiful, it gave me immediately want to read the book, from the beginning we enter the story in search of what could possess the beautiful sister of Adam. The author has a pen so addictive that we are immersed in the story so captivating, moving in some passages, captivating, filled with intrigue, suspense and twists with characters so endearing. I can't wait to read volume 2.

Conclusion :

If you like this kind of book, urban fantasy, the magical world and especially Adam binder my favorite character in this series, I can only recommend this book.
