Résumé :

Après la mort de sa mère, le jeune Caleb Carpenter quitte New York pour rejoindre son père dans les terres sauvages du Montana.

Ce dernier lui enseigne alors le dur métier de trappeur et l’initie aux lois implacables du grand nord.

A ses côtés, Caleb va découvrir le quotidien des Sioux et notamment, le chef Hibou qui rit qui est l’ami de son père.

Ces derniers lui racontent alors une étrange histoire, celle d’une sioux immortelle, esprit de la nuit, qui se nourrit du sang de ses victimes.

Lorsque Caleb tombe nez à nez avec la mystérieuse squaw, il est loin de se douter que cette rencontre va bouleverser sa vie et son destin.

Je tiens à remercier les éditions Encre de Lune pour m'avoir permis de lire de livre coup de cœur, mon deuxième de cette auteure qui à une plume si addictive qu'on ne lâche pas le livre du début à la fin.

On y retrouve ici Caleb qui suite au décès de sa mère quitte New-York pour retrouver son père dans le Montana.

Il va lui apprendre le métier de trappeur et les lois du grand nord.

Caleb va voir le quotidien des Sioux qui plus est leur chef Hibou qui rit un ami de son père.

Ils vont lui compter un mystérieuse histoire sur une créature immortelle se nourrissant de sang humain.

Sauf qu"il va rencontrer celle ci et il était loin de penser que cela allait bousculer sa vie.

Conclusion :

Un livre que je n'ai pas lâcher du début à la fin tellement j'étais à fond dans l'histoire si prenante, captivante avec des personnages si attachants. L'auteure nous entraîne dans le monde des indiens avec un mélange de surnaturel avec brio.

Je vous recommande ce livre à lire si vous aimez le monde des indiens, leurs coutumes et le surnaturel.

Summary :

After the death of his mother, young Caleb Carpenter leaves New York to join his father in the wilds of Montana.

My review :

I would like to thank the publisher Encre de Lune for allowing me to read this book, my second by this author who has such an addictive writing style that we can't let go of the book from beginning to end.

We find here Caleb who, following the death of his mother, leaves New York to find his father in Montana.

He will teach him the job of trapper and the laws of the great north.

Caleb is going to see the daily life of the Sioux who more is their chief Owl who laughs a friend of his father.

They will tell him a mysterious story about an immortal creature that feeds on human blood.

Except that he is going to meet this one and he was far from thinking that it was going to shake up his life.

Conclusion :

A book that I did not let go from the beginning to the end so much I was at the bottom in the story so captivating with characters so endearing. The author takes us into the world of the Indians with a mixture of supernatural with brio.

I recommend this book to you if you like the world of the Indians, their customs and the supernatural.
