Véritable hymne au monde artistique et spirituel, à la beauté des femmes, de celle qui ne se voit pas mais se ressent, l’ouvrage évoque notamment la rencontre avec An, cette jeune Chinoise aux cheveux blonds naturels, descendante d’un légionnaire romain perdu dans l'empire Chinois. Les deux s’apprivoisent, s’aiment malgré leur différence d’âge et partent à la recherche  de cités oubliées.

Je tiens à remercier les éditions Librinova pour m'avoir permis de lire ce livre.

Tout commence lorsqu'un des personnages trouve un carnet de voyage d'un parent dans une malle au grenier. Ce mystérieux parent observait le monde du XIX ème siècle d'un regard orientale et spirituel. En y ayant apposer ses notes, il nous entraîne dans un voyage entre l'Orient et l'Occident plus précisément dans les villes d'Aden et Obock en passant par Jérusalem. On va y croiser une tour du Moyen-Age, un commerçant ressemblant à un sultan turc et une bolchévique révolutionnaire. On va y faire la rencontre avec la fameuse An, une jeune chinoise blonde au naturel qui est la descendante d'un légionnaire romain perdu de l'empire chinois. Le détenteur du carnet de voyage va aimer An malgré leur différence d'âge et ils partiront à la recherche des cités oubliées.

Une sorte de roman philosophique bâtie sur l'âme, le corps et l'esprit qu'il faut lire absolument si vous aimez voyager au travers des récits d'un carnet de voyage.

In a trunk in the attic, a man finds one day the travel diaries of a relative who observes the world of the 19th century, tinged with orientalism and spirituality. After having added his own notes, this man shares with us the stories and ideas of this traveler between the West and the East, in the cities of Aden, Obock and Jerusalem, in particular. We meet a lion with dreamy eyes, a medieval tower, a merchant worthy of a Turkish sultan, a Bolshevik revolutionary.

A true hymn to the artistic and spiritual world, to the beauty of women, the one that cannot be seen but can be felt, the book evokes in particular the meeting with An, this young Chinese woman with natural blond hair, descendant of a Roman legionary lost in the Chinese empire. The two of them become friends, fall in love with each other despite their age difference and go in search of forgotten cities.

It all starts when one of the characters finds a travel book of a relative in a trunk in the attic. This mysterious relative was observing the world of the 19th century with an oriental and spiritual eye. Having put down his notes, he takes us on a journey between the East and the West, more precisely in the cities of Aden and Obock, passing through Jerusalem. We will meet a tower from the Middle Ages, a merchant who looks like a Turkish sultan and a revolutionary Bolshevik. We will meet the famous An, a young Chinese girl with a natural blonde hair who is the descendant of a lost Roman legionary of the Chinese empire. The holder of the travel book will love An despite their age difference and they will go in search of the forgotten cities.

A kind of philosophical novel built on the soul, body and mind that is a must read if you like to travel through the stories of a travel book.
