Je tiens à remercier les éditions Librinova pour m'avoir permis de lire ce livre.

L'histoire se déroule en Galilée au XII ème siècle et où une étrange tornade apparaît et où le moine Jehan va se lancer dans un culte humaniste.

Six cent ans plus tard, on y retrouve l'évêque Benoît et Josserand qui profitent bien du roi Richard Le Fol pour pouvoir gouverner comme ils veulent et gagner pas mal d'argent. Sauf que la guerre approche. Sauf que la reine-sorceresse Mélianda est sur le point de la gagner cette guerre.

Quant aux deux hommes ils font devoir faire alliance avec le roi païen Guilhem Le Bon qui à en sa possession une épée noire légendaire. Ayant été chassé de son trône il s'est fait très longtemps attendre. Ayant combattu dans les terres glacées et sauvages du nord à la recherche de l'Altremonde où il comptait retrouver Eleonore ayant disparu depuis des années.

Pendant ce temps dans l'ancienne cité occupée, Gautier et l'espionne Viviane se préparent en secret pour la rébellion ignorant que cette reine-sorceresse renforce son pouvoir de jours en jours.

J'ai de suite accroché à l'histoire si prenante, addictive, captivante, remplie d'intrigues, de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages attachants. Hâte de découvrir d'autres livres de cet auteur dont j'adore la plume si addictive.

The story takes place in Galilee in the twelfth century where a strange tornado appears and where the monk Jehan will start a humanist cult.

Six hundred years later, we find Bishop Benedict and Josserand who are taking advantage of King Richard Le Fol to be able to rule as they please and make a lot of money. Except that the war is coming. Except that the Queen-Sorceress Melianda is about to win this war.

As for the two men, they have to make an alliance with the pagan king Guilhem Le Bon who has in his possession a legendary black sword. Having been chased from his throne, he has been waiting for a long time. Having fought in the icy and wild lands of the north in search of the Altremonde where he intended to find Eleonore who had disappeared for years.

Meanwhile, in the ancient occupied city, Gautier and the spy Viviane are secretly preparing for the rebellion, unaware that this queen-sorceress is strengthening her power day by day.

I was immediately hooked on the story so gripping, addictive, captivating, full of intrigue, suspense and twists and turns with endearing characters. I can't wait to discover other books by this author whose writing is so addictive.
