Summary :

Forest of Compiègne, 13th century: the knight Ancelin is transported by a strange tornado on a Terra Incognita populated by dragons and other terrifying animals. Six centuries later, his descendant Guilhem the Good sees his kingdom invaded by the ost of the queen-sorceress Mélianda, whose knights, servile warriors and ruthless inquisitors are preparing to launch the final assault on his castle. Guilhem is in disarray. How could he come to such a bloody disaster? Should he continue to fight bravely, as told in the chronicles of his ancestor Ancelin, or should he follow the premonition of his dying wife Eleanor, fleeing to find her and live again their mad love in an enigmatic Altremonde?

Je tiens particulièrement à remercier les éditions Librinova qui m'ont permis de lire ce livre en échange de ma chronique.

L'histoire se déroule en forêt de Compiègne au XIII ème siècle où le chevalier Ancelin est happé par une tornade et se retrouve en terre inconnue peuplée de dragons et autres animaux. Il va y rencontrer le bucheron Honfroi avec qui il va fonder une seigneurie. Six siècles plus tard son descendant Guilhem le bon à son royaume envahi par une sorcière Melianda. Est ce qu'il faut qu'il continu à combattre comme le racontent les chroniques de son ancêtre où faut il qu'il suive les prémonitions de son épouse Eleonore?

J'ai accroché de suite à l'histoire si captivante, addictive, remplie de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages attachants. J'adore la plume de l'auteur.

The story takes place in the forest of Compiègne in the 13th century when the knight Ancelin is swallowed up by a tornado and finds himself in an unknown land populated by dragons and other animals. He will meet the woodcutter Honfroi with whom he will found a lordship. Six centuries later his descendant Guilhem the good to his kingdom is invaded by a witch Melianda. Should he continue to fight as his ancestor's chronicles tell us or should he follow the premonitions of his wife Eleonore?

I immediately hooked on the story, so captivating, addictive, full of suspense and twists and turns with endearing characters. I love the author's writing.
