Née à Paris en 1976, Claire Favan travaille dans la finance et écrit sur son temps libre. Son premier thriller, Le Tueur intime, a reçu le Prix VSD du Polar 2010, le Prix Sang pour Sang Polar en 2011 et la Plume d'or 2014 catégorie nouvelle plume sur le site Plume Libre. Son second volet, Le Tueur de l'ombre, clôt ce diptyque désormais culte centré sur le tueur en série Will Edwards. Après les succès remarqués d' Apnée noire et de Miettes de sang, Claire Favan a durablement marqué les esprits avec Serre-moi fort, Prix Griffe noire du meilleur polar français 2016, et Dompteur d'anges. Son dernier roman, Inexorable, marque un tournant plus intimiste, en mettant en scène un enfant broyé par la société.

A few words about the author:

Born in Paris in 1976, Claire Favan works in finance and writes in her spare time. Her first thriller, Le Tueur intime, received the VSD Polar Award 2010, the Prix Sang pour Sang Polar in 2011 and the Plume d'or 2014 in the new pen category on the Plume Libre website. Its second installment, The Shadow Killer, closes this now cult diptych centered on serial killer Will Edwards. After the remarkable successes of Apnea Noir and Miettes de sang, Claire Favan made a lasting impression with Serre-moi fort, winner of the Griffe noire prize for best French detective novel of 2016, and Dompteur d'anges. Her latest novel, Inexorable, marks a more intimate turning point, featuring a child crushed by society.

Mon avis :

J'ai trouvé le préface rédigé par le fils de l'auteure 12 ans à l'époque, intéressant et explicatif.

Tout commence lors d'une soirée des plus banales où la police cagoulée débarque pour arrêter Victor fiché rouge à Interpol. Son fils Milo va tout voir et depuis cette arrestation il va changer du tout au tout. Quant à sa femme Alexandra elle va en apprendre sur son mari. Dès sa sortie de prison il va tenter de s'excuser. Sauf qu'il ne va pas se ranger longtemps. Ce qui va plus faire encore enrager son fils qui va trainer dans la rue et tomber sur une ancienne camarade Marion qui ne va pas tarder à disparaitre. Il va finir en prison et sa mère sera prête à tout pour le sortir de là.

J'ai de suite accroché à l'histoire si prenante, émouvante, captivante et remplie de suspens et de rebondissements avec des personnages très attachants. Je suis un grand fan de cette auteure qui à une plume addictive. Trop hâte de lire son nouveau livre qui sort sous peu.

My point of view :

I found the preface written by the author's son, who was 12 at the time, interesting and explanatory.

It all begins at a very ordinary party where the hooded police arrive to arrest Victor, who has a red card at Interpol. His son Milo will see everything and since this arrest he will change completely. As for his wife Alexandra, she will learn about her husband. As soon as he gets out of prison he will try to apologize. Except that he won't stay away for long. This will make his son even more enraged, as he hangs out in the street and comes across an old friend Marion who will soon disappear. He'll end up in prison and his mother will do anything to get him out.

I immediately got hooked on the story which is so gripping, moving, captivating and full of suspense and twists and turns with very endearing characters. I'm a big fan of this author who has an addictive pen. I can't wait to read her new book which is coming out soon.
