Summary :

Boeing 777 arrives at JFK and is on its way across the tarmac, when it suddenly stops dead. All window shades are pulled down. All lights are out. All communication channels have gone quiet. Crews on the ground are lost for answers, but an alert goes out to the CDC. Dr. Ephraim "Eph" Goodweather, head of their Canary project, a rapid-response team that investigates biological threats, gets the call and boards the plane. What he finds makes his blood run cold.

In a pawnshop in Spanish Harlem, a former professor and survivor of the Holocaust named Abraham Setrakian knows something is happening. And he knows the time has come, that a war is brewing.

So begins a battle of mammoth proportions as the vampiric virus that has infected New York begins to spill out into the streets. Eph, who is joined by Setrakian and a motley crew of fighters, must now find a way to stop the contagion and save his city - a city that includes his wife and son - before it is too late.  

Mon avis :

Au début j'ai peiné à accroché à l'histoire mais plus j'avançais dans le livre plus j'ai accroché, je n'avais jamais lu d'histoire de vampires comme tels décrits dans ce livre, hâte de lire le tome suivant. On y retrouve Eph et Nora appelés en renfort à l'aéroport JFK un avion à attérit et ne donne plus signe de vie, ce qu'ils vont découvrir à l'interieur va se révéler un massacre et ils vont être aidés dans leur enquête par un préteur sur gage prénommé Setrakian qui en connais un rayon sur ce type de vampires.

My mind : 

At the beginning I toiled to clinging to history but I became in the book more I hooked, I had never read history of vampires as such described in this book, can't wait to read the next book. You will find Eph and Nora called a plane lands at JFK airport and shows more signs of life, what they discover on the inside will prove to be a massacre, and they will be assisted in their investigation by a pawnbroker named Setrakian who know a lot about this type of vampires.
